TCAD Simulation

Technology Computer-Aided Design (TCAD) is the simulation of semiconductor processing, device operation and interconnect characterization for technology development and manufacturing. It is a common technology to understand device physics and verify compact models for novel devices, such as ambipolar silicon nanowire FETs. Furthermore, TCAD simulation can predict physical characteristic of these novel devices without fabrication of real devices, which is usually more complex.

With the capability of process and device simulation, TCAD simulation is also used to develop and optimize semiconductor processing technologies and devices.
