Project Description
An embedded system to remotely power implantable sensors has been developed. The system is merged into a skin patch and located over the implantation area. It transmits power to the implanted sensors by using an inductive link. Moreover, it performs short-range communication with the implanted sensors and long-range communication with remote devices (i.e. iPhone/iPad/PC) by using Bluetooth protocol.

The student should realize an appealing user interface running on mobile phone (i.e. iPhone) to communicate with the system. The interface should enable the user to send command and data to the microcontroller embedded into the skin patch, receive data and analyze them.

Project Task

  • Design of a user interface running on mobile phone (i.e. iPhone) to control the microcontroller  embedded into the skin patch
  • Define a protocol to communicate with the microcontroller, send and receive data

Eligibility Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of programming environments (i.e. Labview, C++, …)
